I grew up in the Chicago area and moved to Las Vegas, NV with my family on my 16th birthday. I hated the move and the new city, but when I was 17 I dedicated my life to Christ. I moved to Reno, NV for college in 2006 and stayed there until I left for the Race in 2013. I was on 2nd gen Q-Sqaud, returning May 30, 2014. I moved to Gainesville, GA in August of that year to begin an internship called the Fellowship. In March 2015, I accepted the role as Host Development Manager (which oversees our Unsung Heroes program) and Regional Director of Europe. And on the side I help out with logistics of getting returned Racers to Georgia for our weeklong conference called Project Searchlight.

I left for the Race expecting to find a husband, a new-found love for a country, and a ministry I wanted to serve forever. None of the above happened. Instead I was stretched mentally, emotionally, and spiritually through team dysfunction, home sickness, and caring people.

Most days I wonder if Georgia is really where God wants me now and I fear he will ask me to stay longer than 2 years. But then I have a great day and it helps me push past those feelings and reminds me that I know the truth - I AM supposed to be here and I won't ever know the future.

I work with mainly men and they honestly feel like family - the brothers I never had but always wanted in my life. My manager is the best boss ever because he truly cares - about me, and about what concerns me. My manager's boss is one of the greatest men on earth today, and every day I am thankful to be surrounded by such amazing men of God.

I want this blog to talk more about my journey - the struggles, the lessons, and the tears - than about what I do every day. I want to share what's going on in my head and my heart, not what's in my emails because I know someone else out there needs to know it's going not to be ok.
